What is attending Tulane University like?
Tulane University’s location in the Uptown district of New Orleans, Louisiana lets students make the most of the Big Easy, from streetcar rides and festivals like Mardi Gras and Crawfest, to big brass bands and jazz. Beyond its proximity to the city’s iconic French Quarter, the University’s picturesque campus provides the best of both urban and rural campus styles, with live oaks, historic architecture, and green space.
A mid-sized private university known for its top-tier research programs and small class sizes, Tulane actively encourages its students to embark on a cross-disciplinary course of study. Once admitted to the University, students are able to complete coursework in all five of its undergraduate schools: Liberal Arts, Science and Engineering, Public Health, Business, and Architecture. Further, specialized tracks like the Creative Premedical Scholars and the Altman Program’s dual business and liberal arts degree allow students to explore the humanities and sciences simultaneously.

As an elite school with a rigorous academic program, Tulane has a fairly competitive admissions process, with just 14% of students receiving an admissions offer last year. While not quite as exclusive as that of the Ivy League, the University’s acceptance rate has hovered between 12-15% since 2021. If you’d like to apply, Tulane offers four different application timelines: Early Decision I, Early Action, Early Decision II, and Regular Decision.
